| touraid hosted a charity golf day at Burhill golf Club on Thursday 17th April attended by a raft of rugby celebrities including Quins players Ugo Monye, Mark Lambert and their Academy Manager Collin Osborne. They were joined by touraid Ambassador Mike Catt and rising England star Danny Cipriani as well as many corporate sponsors and supporters of the Charity
The golf day was raising funds for the next major touraid event, The Tullow Oil Cup – an U13 tournament for ten teams from around the world including Zambia, Tanzania and Trinidad & Tobago.
Danny Cipriani has played an integral part in the process to bring a team over from his father’s homeland, Trinidad & Tobago to play in The Tullow Oil Cup.
19 teams enjoyed the wonderful facilities at Burhill kicked off back Geoff Swain, World Trick Shot Golf Champion who demonstrated his golfing skills much to everyone’s amazement, setting the tone for the rest of the day. The winning team, from Securus, led by Derek Allen, came out winners beating teams including touraid trustee John Inverdale, Total Rugby’s Chris Rea and former Irish International Rob Henderson. The afternoon was rounded off with a delightful carvery lunch generously provided by Burhill. An informative Q&A led by John Inverdale with Mike Catt and new touraid Ambassador Danny Cipriani rounded off the afternoon.
