The boys are from two neighbouring primary schools in the Mooinooi district of Rustenberg, Bapo Primary School and Nkukime Primary School.  The schools are very basic but have enthusiastic staff.

The Bapo Primary School is situated in Bapong. The first school building was erected by the community in 1933 and a second block was added in 1953 but no alterations have been made since. The School’s Development Committee is busy fundraising to assist with maintenance on the school buildings. At the end of 2007, there were 115 boys and 110 girls in the school. Some pupils walk approximately 4 km per day to get to school and back home. They do not have access to sporting facilities except the rough and ready soccer fields in the villages.

The school was founded in 1969 by Dr I S Kloppers and Captain Fred Mogale Tswelelopele. The buildings are maintained by the School Development Committee through fundraising and outside assistance. At the end of 2007 there were 136 boys and 124 girls in the school. Many travel approximately 9km per day, either by foot or if they can afford it, public transport. Similarly if the pupils want to participate in sporting activities the only facilities are in the village

Team sponsor Lonmin, have a big presence in the area employing many local villagers in the mines. There is good contact between the two schools and Lonmin, and although they have not played rugby before there is a huge enthusiasm for this project.

Recently Michael Collinson and some of his team from the Swaziland charity SKRUM spent the day with the pupils from both schools introducing them to the game with the funny shaped ball. Since then, they have been visited by South African rugby legend Chester Williams who provided more coaching tips to the youngsters.
