Kadogos The children are from the Banunule Primary School in the parish of Kisugu, 5kms south of Kampala Cith Centre. It provides free education to 196 orphaned and underprivileged children who would otherwise receive no formal schooling. In addition to their education, uniform and text books etc the school also provides meals and medical care. It is a private school and relies solely on donations. A number of the children have previously lived on the streets – all have faced trauma in their lives. The children live with local foster families all of whom are themselves underprivileged. Malaria is rife in the area and cholera and chest infections are common. Thanks to the British doctor in Kampala the orphans are treated free of charge. The school offers many extra-curricular activities including music, dance drama and sport.
Andy Demetriou, who is working in Uganda for Principle Sponsor, Tullow Oil, is helping to select the boys. Members of the Kyadando RFC have been helping to coaching the team.
