Darek Gregorwoski was delighted at the fantastic performance of his inexperienced lads at the National Schools Sevens. The boys really excelled in winning their group which consisted of Glantaf, St George's, Harpenden and Churches. Spectator and Quins star Mark Lambert commented, "Just imagine if they got more opportunities to compete how good they would be!" as one particularly large U13 Polish lad bulldozed his way to the try line.
A narrow defeat in the play-off match to Judd ended Wilda's dreams of progressing to the second day.
Darek was as happy in defeat as he was earlier in victory, delighted just at being in the UK and the welcome from host school Moulsford Prep.
Mark Griffiths (Director of Sport) reported that the boys had made a real impression at his school and that he had accepted Darek's invitation to return to Poznan next April!
Darek believes that at least 3 or 4 of the lads that played will make the Poland National U17s squads in a couple of years. We look forward to hearing news of their progress.
touraid would like to thank the Moulsford community and particularly Mark for their generous hospitality. |
