The whole school embraced the tour with Nigerian food, music etc. Peter Ferguson, an Addax Petroleum Executive at the time, contacted touraid about his idea for setting up a rugby club in the desperately poor Niger Delta. With advice from touraid Peter engaged the local community leaders and schools and now has a thriving junior and senior section that competes across Nigeria to the highest standard. Peter is no longer employed by Addax but is setting up an organisation that will cover costs of coaches and a feeding programme as the oil company has withdrawn funding. All boys are still in contact with their host families and there is hope they may return in 2010.
