Below are some comments from all parties so far involved in touraid:
Hosting the Ivory Coast squad has been one of the most worthwhile things I have
been involved in during my fifteen years at Amesbury.
Nigel Taylor, Headmaster Amesbury School
The only part I disliked was having to say goodbye to Phutso - I ended up crying as he left.
George, Host pupil, Esher High School
To my mind the whole thing worked well and my only criticism is that there just wasn't enough time!
Host parent, Danes Hill School
The atmosphere at Esher Rugby Club was fantastic and I know the boys had a really amazing day. Thank you!
Host Parent, Danes Hill School
Everybody was so wonderful and we felt part of a 'special team' all week. Everybody pulled together to help each other out and it restored our faith in humankind.
Teacher, Esher C of E High School.
The experience has made us appreciate our family life more.
Host parent, Esher C of E School
The whole week was fantastic. It was wonderful to see both the Madagascan boys and our own children enjoying themselves doing something quite different and sometimes completely out of their comfort zone. It was lovely to see the kids playing outside and not stuck in front of computers.
Host parent, Heathside School
It was suddenly like having a big family with everyone mucking in, cooking, washing and doing stuff together.
Host parent, Heathside School
Sport is a brilliant way to bring children together
Teacher, Heathside School
Top notch - I can't fault it at all. I am not sure what didn't work well because it all seemed good to me.
Liaison Officer for Heathside/Madagascar Touraid 2008
The tournament organization was spot on and the day at Wasps was fantastic
Host parent, Hinchley Wood School
We were very lucky to have the London Wasps sponsoring us and very fortunate that the kids got the opportunity to meet some of the players.
Allianz Liaison Officer for Hinchley Wood/Namibia
Finals day at Esher provided a good atmosphere for the tournament. The time and effort put in by everyone to make it successful was tremendous and the boys really enjoyed the day.
Host parent, Lanesborough School
I felt both Cobham and Esher rugby clubs were fantastic venues for the kids to play as there was plenty of parking and very easy to find. I don't think that this could have been improved.
Feedback on tournament venue and logistics, Allianz Liaison Officer
If I had the opportunity I would gladly offer my services again to do this. I learned a lot during the week and have memories that will last forever.
Allianz Liaison Officer, Hinchley Wood/Namibia
I have learnt you can make really good friends in the space of a week.
Host pupil, Hinchley Wood School
The touraid experience was an asset to Trinidad and Tobago and by extension Rainbows. The experience for the boys was something that would last in their memories forever. They left Trinidad boys and returned young men, ambassadors of our country and the Rainbow Community.
Coach/Carer for Rainbows sports and cultural club.
