Locomotiv RFC, Ukraine - Brandeston Hall

BRANDESTON HALL FESTIVAL MARCH 2007

The side of Locomotiv RFC, based in Ukraine's capital Kiev, shared a similar history to that of the Romanian side Metrorex. Like Metromex, Locomotiv's club was historically founded by railway workers within the capital during the communist era. The boy's parents were typically manual workers within the city and for them, the opportunity to travel to the UK and spend time in the Suffolk community required little encouragement to seize and was ultimately a welcome relief from the struggles of Ukrainian life.
