Hosting Parents

Hosting by Parents
tour
aid has produced a set of guidelines to help you deal with children from different cultures and social backgrounds. These are generic guidelines and may or may not apply to the particular children you are hosting but we hope they offer some pre tour advice.

Although you may not share a common language with the children you are about to host, in our experience this should not form a barrier to effective communication, and like children everywhere, they will find a way to create a common 'language'.

We have no doubt that hosting a child is initially very daunting but it will also be an incredibly rewarding experience. We have witnessed many shy children blossom in a new environment and it makes the work of touraid totally worthwhile when the bond between the host families and their guests are forged with such affection and respect.

Feedback Post Tour
For touraid to continue to improve its service to schools, clubs, parents and touring children, it is important to know what we do right and where we might have gone wrong. Please do take the time to complete the short feedback form and please encourage your children to provide their thoughts as well.
